The Ayuntamiento of Alhaurin el Grande begins works on the access streets for the Centro de Estancia Diurna

These works in the sector UR-3B provide access to different plots of municipal equipment, which also has the consistorio in this area.

This week works have begun in the area known as the Huerta del Jorobado. These works are part of the second phase of the development works of two streets that give access to the Centro de Estancia Diurna (day care centre for the elderly) and is located between the municipal facility and the existing residential development front of the Centro de Mayores.

"Some work has been carried out on a plot of 5,000 m2, located in a urbanisation in the old town which is accessed from the calle Nueva, where the City has significant public sections, such as Centro de Mayores itself. There will betwo areas of a total of 6,500 m2 as well as a plot for green areas of 4,200 m2, plus another plot for public housing " stated the councillor of Urban Development, Víctor Romero.

The edil explained that "these development works had to be assumed by the City upon presentation of bankruptcy by the company responsible for developing the sector,".

The edil of Urban Development explained that "the works of this second phase have a deadline of 74 days and an investment of just over 100,000 euros, provided by a grant from the Rural Development Group Valle del Guadalhorce." He went on to say," once the second phase of urbanisation has been worked on we will also have access to other municipal parcels owned by the Ayuntamiento as well as a promotion of VPO housing."

Finally, the edil has concluded that "with the Centro de Estancia Diurna, new streets, public housing and a plot aimed at green area of ​​over 4,000 m2, themunicipality of Alhaurín el Grande will give more life and social and economic vitality to this important and central area of ​​the municipality."

The construction of Centro de Estancia Diurna of Alhaurin el Grande is progressing very rapidly. This building, which alone holds the local council, is one of the firmest commitments and important areas for this largest portion of the municipality with a budget amounting up to 700,000 Euros, between the building and the refurbishment of the garden area.

The building is located on a plot of 2,083 m2, distributed in 515 m2 basement and ground floor, where there are different rooms. Moreover, in this building there are two distinct areas, the living room for the elderly and the dining room, laundry and kitchen, plus room for psychomotor, physiotherapy and all with large windows to the outside and surrounded by spacious gardens in an area of around 2.000m2 with exercise area for adults and all with conditions of accessibility to users.

Currently, work has focused in recent weeks in the plaster of the exterior facade of the building, having completed the work corresponding to the masonry and the area covers.
